Swimming Lessons

I finally remembered to take my camera to swimming lessons! Ethan has had 5 sessions of swimming lessons, next week is his last week. He is doing very well! I would guess by this summer he will be able to swim by himself. I think we are going to put him in Kids Connection at the St. Clair school. They will take him to swimming lessons plus they go to the pool just for fun a few times per week. They also get to go to a Twin's game at the new stadium and other field trips. I hope it is fun for him!

Sunday Fun-Day

What a nice weekend! Ethan was worn out on Sunday night from all of the playing outside. The first thing he asked Grandpa to do when we got to their house on Friday night was get the basketball hoop out...and he did, of course. Ethan got to dye Easter eggs on Saturday afternoon. The Easter bunny came on Sunday morning, he decided to hide eggs inside the house...good thing...because Ethan decided to wake up at about 5:45 a.m. and I wouldn't have wanted to search for eggs outside at that time! So he had fun finding his basket and searching for eggs around the house. Carson found one egg, sat on the floor and played with it and kept saying "ball" over and over. Easily entertained. :) I failed to take pictures of them with their Easter baskets...my mind wasn't focused on getting the camera out that early in the morning! Ethan, my mom and I went to church and then had an Easter brunch afterwards. The kids had fun playing outside in the sandbox and riding around on the golf cart. You even get to see a rare family pic of Jarred and I and the boys! Usually we try to stay out of pictures, which we need to get better about...because it's fun to have pictures of us and the kids too.

I hope to have some fun pictures to post of our Easter weekend this year! We are going to Grandpa & Grandma Poppe's. It would be great if the nice weather would keep up so the boys can play outside. Carson loves playing in the sandbox and Ethan is all into basketball right now.

Swimming is fun!

The boys got to go swimming this last weekend. I figured Carson would like it since he loves bathtime...and he sure did! I think he would have stayed in the pool for quite awhile, but it was a little chilly so he started to get cold. Ethan had fun too, especially since his cousin Kristen was there to swim with him! I am hoping the swimming lessons coming up will teach him quite a bit so he can learn to swim by himself. I think there will be lots of trips to the pool for us this summer!

Think Spring!

Is it just me, or has this winter been LONG? I am ready for some nice spring weather. The kids NEED to play outside. Every morning on the way to pre-school Ethan asks me when the snow is going to melt...and everyday I say hopefully SOON!

The kids have been sick a lot, so that has made winter longer too. Everyone in our household has a cold that never seems to go away.

Ethan will be starting swimming lessons at MSU in a few weeks, he will go once a week. I picked MSU because they will have 3 kids to one teacher, I think that will help him learn faster. I know he will be excited to go swimming! In the past few months, Ethan has also become more interested in writing his letters and numbers and loves to copy words out of books. He also got to go ice fishing with Grandpa Brian a few weekends ago, he had been wanting to do that all winter. One day he told me that him and Grandpa should go ice fishing in Antartica. ha!

Carson is just funny. He doesn't say to many words, but always finds a way to get what he wants! When you ask him if he wants something he shakes his head yes or no. When it's time to eat he runs over to his high chair and shakes the chair. When he is full, he is very good at throwing his food across the room or rubbing it in his hair. Not sure why he does that, it's always fun picking food out of his hair. He is good at throwing fits when he doesn't get what he wants and he still hits his brother quite often. Never a dull moment in our household. :)

I haven't taken to many pictures lately, or been good about updating the blog. But when I go to long I have a sister who reminds me that she is anxiously awaiting updates! So this one was especially for you Shannon. :)

Little Friends

I love putting up pictures of the kids with their little friends. I have mentioned before how fun I think it is to watch all the little ones play together!

This is our newest little friend, Jack Will (and his sister Aubrey in the background). So cute! It brings back memories of when Ethan always wanted to hold Carson. Aww.

Ethan had hearts painted on his cheeks for Valentine's Day, in case anyone was wondering what is on his face. :)


Carson is with friends Owen Becker and Reed Bohlke. This was taken back in December around Christmas and these 3 boys look so much different already!

So, I will continue to take lots of pictures of the kids with all their friends...it's already fun to look back at them and there will only be more fun to come!

Brotherly Love

It is fun to watch how much Carson likes to do what his brother is doing. If we are playing catch, Carson always wants in...if Ethan is playing with a toy, Carson always wants it. Ethan has trouble with this sometimes, but he tries to include his little brother. Sometimes he just forgets that Carson is little and he can't push him over purposely or tackle him. But I think this has made Carson a pretty tough little boy, he rarely cries if Ethan does something to him. Most of the time he laughs. Which doesn't really help when trying to teach Ethan he needs to be less rough! (Ethan always says: "But MOM, he likes it!") There have also been many times when Carson smacks Ethan over the head with a toy or goes after him with a plastic golf club. He seems to get his revenge even though he doesn't realize it. Which makes me think that Ethan might have to watch out in the future! :)
