Christmas is almost here!

Ethan & Carson are both ready for Christmas. :) Ethan had fun on Saturday night making cut out sugar cookies with me. He rolled out dough and cut out his own cookies. It was fun. He was wondering when he could do it again. Maybe he needs an easy bake oven for Christmas?? haha

Well, I am counting down the last 3 weeks of my maternity leave. I cannot believe it has gone by so fast. January 5th is going to be a really hard day.

This upcoming weekend we are going to the Waterpark of America in the cities with Jarred's family. We are staying Friday and Saturday night, Ethan is so excited. He loves waterparks.

For Christmas we are going to be down in Fairmont. So we are looking forward to that.

I hope everyone is staying warm! I am glad I don't have to leave the house today.

I did a little video of Carson smiling this morning! It was easier to catch him smiling on the video than trying to get a good picture. I think the video may look a little dark...it didn't look that way when I was recording. So hopefully this works. I wish I could edit out my voice...it always sounds funny to hear your own voice played back to you. Turn down the volume and you won't have to hear me. :)

Eventually I will have some pictures up of Ethan's birthday party. He had a fun time and got LOTS of presents. He's been keeping busy playing. This morning when he saw all of the snow he wanted to go outside right away. But I know I will get him all bundled up and he will want to be out there for about 15 minutes before he gets cold.

Happy 4th Birthday Ethan!

Ethan is 4 today! Today he got to stay home with both Daddy, Carson and I. He opened a couple of bday presents and just played in his toy room with his new toys. Sunday we are having the birthday party with all of the family. No kid birthday party yet this year, not sure I am ready for that yet. :)

The baby pic is of Ethan, I just wanted to post it for fun to show how much he has grown.

Tonight Auntie Andrea is coming to stay with Ethan and Carson. Jarred and I are going out for our 5 year anniversary. "5 years of bliss..." as Jarred would say. haha. We are going to eat at Greenmill then to the movie Four Christmases, we heard it was pretty funny. Then if we can both still stay awake maybe we will stop by the bar!

1 month old!

Happy 1 month birthday to Carson! Carson is doing good! He gives us a feel little smiles here and there, so I have a feeling the big grins will be coming soon. The last couple of nights he has slept for one 5 hour stretch! I shouldn't even talk about it, because then it won't continue. :)
We have a busy Thanksgiving weekend coming up. Tomorrow we are celebrating with Jarred's dads side of the family, Friday night his moms side, and then Saturday morning we will head to Fairmont. Sounds like the weather is supposed to be decent, hopefully there isn't any snow for people that are traveling long distances.
I posted a few pics below from the week! Carson loves his baths now, I will start trying to give him one more often because it seems to calm him down before bed.
Carson got to play with his friend Owen Becker yesterday and I posted a picture from a little while back of Carson and Aubrey Will. It will be fun to see all of them play together when they get older!
Ethan had a doctors appointment on Monday. He is 40 pounds and 40 inches tall, about right on track. Jarred is always worried that he is short, but he really isn't. He also had a flu shot, and did not like that at all. Today he gets to go swimming at the rec center with daycare! It's all he could talk about all week.

3 weeks old!

Another week has gone by! Carson is 3 weeks old today. He seems like he is really growing alot, I bet he weighs almost 10 pounds. He just eats like crazy! He's been a little fussier than normal the last few days...so I haven't been getting as much sleep. I figured out that he really likes the swing, I have a small portable one and I got it out yesterday...it puts him right to sleep.

Not much else is really new I guess. Just been hanging out at home with the boys. I went on my first grocery store excursion last Friday with both of them. I will try NOT to do that again! Carson slept, and Ethan is always good in the grocery store...it's just easier to go by myself. :)

I can't believe Thanksgiving is almost here...and Christmas is just around the corner. I need to start doing some Christmas shopping. Hopefully we will get a snowstorm one of these days. If it's going to be cold, there might as well be snow on the ground. Ethan can't wait to play in the snow.

2 weeks already??

Wow, I can't believe 2 weeks has gone by!! I guess I am not as good at updating this thing as I would like to be, but hopefully since we are getting more into the swing of things I can find some more computer time. Jarred went back to work on Monday of this week, it was nice to have him home for almost a week and a half! Ethan has been going to daycare 3 days/week...yesterday was the first day he stayed home with just me and Carson and after about an hour he asked if he could go to Jenny's to play with his friends!! :) He has been doing really well with having a new sibling, he likes to hold him and kiss him a lot. Although he gets mad if he asks me for something and I can't get it for him right away, so that will take some getting used to. He also gets more jealous when daddy plays with Carson, Ethan is definitely a daddy's boy!!

Carson had his 2 week check up on Tuesday, he weighed 9 lbs 4 oz!! So he gained quite a bit, I figured he would because he eats like crazy. But the doctor said he is doing great. He has still been sleeping pretty good...lastnight he kept me up for awhile, but I can't really complain since he has been doing so well. He basically gets up every 3-4 hours to eat. The only time he really cries is when he doesn't get his bottle RIGHT AWAY and he really hates diaper changes, so I try to be quick! He also didn't really enjoy his first bath, I had the camera all ready to take pictures...but he was extremely upset so the bath lasted about 1 minute!!

Jarred and my dad got to go to the Vikings/Packers game on Sunday. So I dressed the boys up in their Vikings gear and we watched the game. Ethan was disapointed and couldn't figure out why he didn't get to see Daddy and Grandpa on TV! So here's a couple of more recent pics, and hopefully I can be better about updating.

He's here!

Carson Brian was born on 10/29/08 at 10:20 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 21 inches long. So far he has been a very good baby, sleeping and eating great! Big brother Ethan visited in the hospital twice, he didn't quite know what to think. We got home from the hospital today around 11, and have just been at home resting. Ethan was Batman for Halloween, and went trick or treating with Grandma Sheila. I am sure he had fun! I had a chance to post a few pictures, there will be more to come! I don't have many pictures with his eyes open because he has been such a sleepy boy! (We'll see if that continues through the night......)

Future Hunter?

Just wanted to post a picture from the weekend of Ethan with the "hunters". He even stayed outside to watch Uncle Tim clean the birds, I don't know if he knew what to think of that! It would have been perfect if he had some camoflauge gear to wear too, we'll have to work on that.

I haven't been able to organize pictures how I want to, still trying to figure this blog out! Hopefully I will have time to do more with it one of these days. This kind of stuff is suppose to come easy for me since I DID go to school for web programming...but that was a long time ago. :)

1st time blogger

I have been reading some different blogs lately and thought maybe it would be kind of fun to start one up. I have always been hesitant, because I really don't feel like I have a lot of interesting things to say! (And I know Jarred will roll his eyes at me when I tell him I started a blog) But I am always sending out pictures of Ethan...and now will be sending out pictures of baby boy #2. So I thought this would be a good way to keep everyone updated on what we are up to and pictures of the boys...without bombarding your emails! So please save the address to this blog and check back often, especially in these next few months.

I'll start off by posting the cool ultrasound pictures we had done a few weeks ago of the baby. And the above picture of Ethan from the Twins game we went to this summer. He had a pretty eventful summer!

Jen, his daycare provider had a baby in July...so we had 8 weeks with no daycare. He was lucky enough to have family members and friends help take care of him, so he had some trips to the pool, campground & zoo. I also got to take a week of vacation to spend with him. The last few weeks of the summer we were referred to a great temporary home daycare, Ethan had a lot of fun there. He even managed to get his 2nd black eye, he was just horsing around with another little boy.

Our trip of the summer was an extended weekend to Okoboji with friends Jamie, Sara & Aubrey. We stayed at a beautiful place with an indoor waterpark. Ethan loved it. We are hoping to go back later this winter!

We are all getting excited and anxious for the baby to come! As of today I am at 36 weeks. Ethan asks a lot of questions...and seems excited right now, we'll see what happens when the baby actually gets here! :)

For now Ethan is in 7th heaven because Jarred started in the field. He got to ride in the tractor and combine lastnight, and was not happy when he had to come home! It will definitely help me out a lot this fall if he wants to ride with daddy a lot.

This weekend Ethan and I are off to Fairmont to go to Grandpa & Grandma Poppe's. Sounds like tomorrow will be a pretty nice day and we will probably spend the afternoon at Center Creek Orchard. I love fall!!!
