Off to the pumpkin patch....

....okay, so it was just a roadside pumpkin stand. But there were lots of them and Ethan had fun picking out his pumpkins while his brother tasted a pumpkin!

Maybe if it ever warms up, we will get to go to a REAL pumpkin patch!

The sun is shining!

The weather for the last week is not what I had in mind for FALL! It has been miserable, especially when there is an almost 5 year old in the house who has a lot of energy and needs to get outside! Otherwise his mommy may go crazy. :) So, I hope the sun can stay out today until after work...because we need to be outside!

Taking pictures of the boys is definitely not easy anymore. Carson won't sit still and it takes a lot of convincing (and bribing!) to get Ethan to act normal and not stick his tongue out or close his eyes. Although it does make for some funny pictures sometimes.

Saturday is Ethan's last soccer game. I just hope the crappy weather can hold off so that they get to play. Ethan has missed 2 weeks because of being sick and the weather.

The cute little blue eyed boy from above has decided for the past 4 or 5 nights that he wants to be awake from 3-5 a.m.! I think when he was sick with his last ear infection he got a little to use to being picked up in the middle of the night. I hope we can break this soon, because it makes for

a long day at work!

It's been an exciting week of MN sports. Ethan says GO VIKINGS & TWINS!

Mama's Boy

Happy 11 month birthday to Carson! I can't believe he is going to be 1 in just a month. Time to start planning the party! I have a feeling he will be walking all around very shortly, he is already brave enough to take a few steps. I am pretty sure his first word was "mama". Which fits, because he is a mama's boy!!!!!! :)

Soccer!

Ethan had his first day of soccer on Saturday. He loved it. He looked so grown up in his cute soccer uniform. There are 6 kids on the team. They start with a 1/2 hour practice and then they have a game. They take turns playing 3 on 3 with the other team. It's so funny watching those kids run around in a pack chasing the ball. They have a hard time keeping their hands off the ball because they want to stop it or pick it up and throw it. Ethan had 2 goals...one for his team and one for the other team! ha. He is already asking when he gets to play again.

Summer is almost over.....

...and I am okay with that! As most of you know (because I say it all of the time)...I love fall! We look forward to being outside in the fall, going to apple orchards, buying pumpkins, fall colors...and of course the nice cool weather. And lucky for Ethan, he will be able to ride in the tractor and combine again soon. His favorite thing to do!

Ethan had a great week at his new school last week. Don't call it daycare around him, because he will correct you and tell you that he is now at SCHOOL, not daycare. :) I hope it continues to go well. He already has some new friends he likes to talk about and they seem to keep busy with lots of different activities.

We didn't do much over labor day weekend. Just stayed around the house. Jarred and Ethan did some work outside and needed Grandpa John's gator to move some blocks around, so Ethan of course loved that. He thought he should be able to drive!


Ethan was excited to have Benji with us for a few days.

It's a Blogging World

It seems like more & more people are joining the blogging world. I love blogging, I just wish I could become better at thinking of creative things to talk about. Not just...here's what we did last weekend, here's some pictures of the kids...blah blah. :) I know that was the point of starting a blog, just to be able to post pictures of the kids and what they have been up to so family/friends can see...and it seems like some people like to check it out. But someday it would be fun to think of interesting stories to tell and topics to write about. It would even be fun to get more creative with the design of the blog and add side bars/advertisements to it. (People actually make money from the advertisement part!) But I guess taking care of 2 kids and having a full time job kind of takes up a lot of time. So, it's just another thing to keep thinking about. Stay tuned, maybe someday this blog will just get more interesting! :)

On that note. Back to updates on the kiddos! Some changes will be coming for Ethan. As of August 31st he is going to be going to a new "school". It's a daycare center here in Mankato that takes pre-schoolers full time. He went and visited it with me yesterday, he was kind of shy when the teachers talked to him and tried to get him to join in on the kids games. But when we left he said he thought it would be a fun place to go. I think it will be great for him to have more structure in his day and more kids to play with that are his age. So lets hope this change is good. I can't believe how grown up he is...first pre-school...and soon kindegarten. *sigh*

He is looking at his brother with complete adoration...I will show this to him some day when all he wants to do is get away from that cute little brother.

Sleeping babies are so sweet (it was only coincidence that his pacifier and pj's coordinate!)

And then that sweet little baby wakes up and gets into everything...and laughs when you tell him no.

Ethan thought making Carson's hair like this was hilarious, he couldn't stop giggling. He had a bunch of sunscreen on so his hair was nice & greasy!

The boys & I are heading down to Fairmont this weekend. Hoping to spend some time out at the Martin County Fair!

Jarred is going to the pre-season Vikings game Friday night. GO BRETT FAVRE!

Lazy Dayz

I guess I have kind of taken a little break from the blog!

Let's see...Jarred and I got away for a long weekend & went to Country Jam with his family. It was a lot of fun. Great music & good food & drinks. Meanwhile my mom was back home taking care of the kids while she had the stomach flu. Yikes! Good thing she had Keisha to help. Ethan got to go fishing with Grandpa Brian & he caught LOTS of fish! He still talks about it.

Carson had his 9 month doctor appointment today. Last week he had another go around with an ear infection, so today the doctor checked his ears out and said they look great! I hope they stay that way for awhile. He weighs 21.7 pounds and is 29 inches long. Growing like a weed! He is still keeping busy crawling around and getting into everything. Most of you have seen them, but he had some really cute 9 month pictures taken. So I am going to post my favorite picture, because I can't get enough of it!



August is going to fly by, and soon Ethan will be starting pre-school, sunday school & soccer! Sorry to all of you who love summer...but I am really looking forward to fall. :)
