Wishing for warmer weather

We had fun visting April at her new house last weekend, even though I was worried the whole time about weather, and it really didn't even end up doing anything! Anyway, we did a little shopping (found a cute outfit for Carson's baptism!), went for a walk to get some fresh air and let Ethan burn off some energy. Instead of going out for supper we ordered some really good pizza, much easier then going to a restaurant. It is definitely a lot more work for me carting 2 kids to the cities, and driving up there just makes me nervous in general! It makes me thankful for small towns.

I was going through pictures and came across this one of Ethan when his hair was longer!

It makes me miss it like that. Shaving his head is easier and cheaper since I can do it...but I love his cute blonde hair. We will probably have to grow it out again (sorry daddy!). I bought a new shaver and it came with an instructional DVD on how to cut hair, maybe I can try and teach myself how to cut it the way it used to be! If I screw up, I can always shave it off. :)

On Saturday Margo, Mark & Owen are coming to hang out with us, I am excited to see them! Mark is going to help Jarred lay tile in our bathroom in the basement. We are getting closer to getting it done, it will be nice to be able to use it now that our bedroom is down there.

Tomorrow morning I am taking Ethan to pre-school screening. I hope it goes well!

When we were driving up to the cities on Saturday morning out of no where Ethan said: "Mommy, I wish it was summer so I could play outside!". Me to Ethan...and I am sure everyone else feels the same way! So lets hope it warms up soon.

Carson LOVES his rice cereal, I guess he was ready to try it because he gobbles it right up.

He had his 4 month doctor appointment yesterday. He weighed 15 pounds 6 ounces and was 25 inches long. Both put him around the 60-70th percentile. He is growing good! He has also started giggling...I love that sound.

I have a hard time getting Ethan to let me take new pictures of him, maybe next week I can sneak in a few pictures of him playing sports at the Y. Lastnight they played kickball, it was kind of chaotic but Ethan had fun and didn't want to leave.

This weekend the kids and I are going to visit April at her new house! We will probably sneak in a little shopping and go somewhere fun to eat. Or maybe April should cook for us!! :)

It's Friday!

As of right now, everyone is healthy! Ethan went back to daycare yesterday, he must have just had a little case of the flu. I am happy that he is feeling better and Carson is still doing fine.

I think this weekend I might test out giving Carson a little rice cereal, now that he is 4 months old. Just a little at night. Maybe...just maybe...it would help him sleep through the night. :) So I will post some pictures of that next week, I am sure it will be interesting! He also has his 4 month doctor appointment on Monday, can't wait to see how much he weighs! He is growing so fast and already wearing some 6-9 month clothes.

A few weeks ago we switched our bedrooms around so the boys would have their own rooms. Jarred and I now have our bedroom in the basement, it has actually worked out well. So Ethan wanted me to take a picture of him in his "new" room.

Tomorrow Jarred and I, Jamie & Sara and Trent & Laura are going to Diamond Joe's casino. Should be a fun time. I am sure the girls will just hang out at the slot machines, although I kind of want to play a little blackjack! Grandpa John is coming over to watch the boys.

My mom & dad went to Colorado this weekend to visit Shannon and watch Keisha play in a basketball tournament. I wish we could have gone with! They even took Benji with.

Round 2

We are on round 2 of kids being sick, Ethan woke up at about 2 a.m. with a fever and this morning it was at 102! He has a cough and stuffy nose, so hopefully it doesn't get any worse. Jarred is at home with him today. I hope he gets better fast.

I ended up getting him in that sports class at the Y, a spot opened up. So he went lastnight and played soccer! It was cute watching those kids. I know Ethan has some issues with listening...some days it really seems like his ears just don't work. But when I saw how bad some of those other kids were at listening, it made me feel a little better! :)

Carson is still doing okay, I hope he doesn't catch what Ethan has.

Hope everyone that is reading this is staying healthy, this year has been terrible for sickness.

3 1/2 month pics

I am pretty sure everyone that reads this blog has seen Carson's pictures already, but I am going to post a few anyway. I was just so happy with how they turned out.

We are headed to Fairmont this weekend, I am really looking forward to going but am annoyed right now because we are in a Winter Weather Advisory!!! I just hope it can hold off until I can get there.

I tried to sign Ethan up at the Y a few days ago for one of those sports classes, apparently I waited to long and they are both full! So I think I will have him do the next session of swimming lessons right away. I really like having him involved in something so he can get some exercise, and he enjoys it. Plus it forces me to workout! :) The requirements to pass the next class seem pretty tough, they have to be able to swim across the pool without help! I have a feeling the little kids probably take this session a few times.

If anyone wants to go see a girly movie this weekend go see Confessions of a Shopaholic! Sara and I went to it lastnight and I thought it was really good.

Swimming

Ethan passed his first swimming class! So he moves from Pike to Eel, he was very proud of himself. I tried to take a few pictures of him swimming, but I think I need to read the manual on my camera because any kind of action shot turns out blurry. I know Jarred is reading this saying it's the picture taker (he thinks my hand shakes) and not the camera, but I am convinced I need to change the settings on the camera or something. Anyway, now that swimming is over I am going to put Ethan in a Mini Sports camp where they will learn to play tball, soccer, basketball & floor hockey. It's just on Monday nights. So then after that session is over he will do swimming lessons again.

Carson is doing much better, his cough is almost gone. He is such a happy baby! Now we just need to work on sleeping through the night again.

Sick days....

Last week was a very long week! Carson ended up getting sick with a really bad cough. I felt so sorry for the little guy. He would cough so hard that he would choke and then end up throwing up. I took him to the doctor on Tuesday and they said he just had a cold and there was nothing they could do. So he suffered through a few more days and I took him back to the doctor on Friday. They found an ear infection and heard a little crackling in his lungs, so he was put on on antibiotic. He was in a much better mood over the weekend and he isn't coughing as much. he has definitely picked up some bad habits while being sick, like wanting to be held all of the time and not sleeping in his crib as good. But that's okay, it's pretty hard not to cuddle with him when he isn't feeling good.

We thought Ethan had the flu, I had to pick him up from daycare one day after he had thrown up. But it must have been something he ate because he ended up being fine. He has been okay since then, and just has a slight cold. Hopefully he stays healthy this week because it is his last week of swimming lessons. He is going to be bummed when they are over, he loves going. He came up with the idea that he is going to be playing soccer once swimming lessons are over. He also wants to play t-ball really bad, but won't be old enough for the summer program in St. Clair. I should be able to get him involved in something like that at the YMCA.

I hope everyone is staying healthy, there is so much crap going around. My mom came and watched the boys on Thursday...and now she is sick! Hope you feel better mom! :)
